“What is so extraordinary about this body of work is the passionate
clarity of the ideas that fuel it and the formal precision of the
narrative and cinematographic structures which allow the viewer in.”
LESLIE DICK
One of the most distinctive film artists currently working, Paul Bush
has crafted a unique filmography within the realm of what is called
animation, while never being restricted by any of the default
settings of that medium. His award-winning shorts challenge the
boundaries that separate fiction, documentary and the expectations of
the animated image.
His background in fine art influences his work, which is reflected in
its inclusion in art collections and exhibitions as well as cinema
distribution and television broadcast.

Film programme
James Richards’ work shifts in form and content dependent on the
location and context of its exhibition. Material scavenged from the
internet, fragments of popular television, mainstream and underground
combine with original video into an extraordinary resonance and
profound new emotional landscape. It is shown alongside an exclusive
presentation of early work by the renowned artist Cerith Wyn Evans,
where content radically shifts dependent on its context, in a
profound and mutating essay on human perception.
This programme is part of a series of three screenings presenting and
contextualising the first public showing of brilliant new work by
three young contemporary artists working in London.
